LOGO EXPLANATION

The words "Zion Hill" appear in large letters for this has been our church's name for over 138 years. "Baptist Church" appears in smaller letters, recognizing our history as a Baptist Fellowship, while simultaneously suggesting that we do no not allow denominationalism, which is a human creation, to loom so large that it separates us from the other Christian traditions and people of good will around the world!

The purple symbol portrayed in the background is that of a rock over a pool of water. The image assumes that at least one rock has already splashed into the water, representing Zion Hill having already made a positive, forceful impact on the community and the world through love and service. Also, this water theme reasserts the mandate we have from our Savior to baptize throughout the world. The ripples from the splash suggest how the impact of our Christian activities spread from this faith center to reach those inside and outside of the congregation.

The rock that is yet to drop in the water implies that our work is never done; it reminds us that we must continue our efforts to have a Godly influence on our immediate surroundings and beyond.  The color purple, generally suggesting royalty, represents the Passion of Christ, making it a reminder that all of our work, regardless of its difficulty, must be guided by the ultimate example and sacrifice of our Lord and Liberator, Jesus the Christ!
